Saturday morning – the later, waking up part of it) was quite rough for both us – mostly for Derek. ;-)
After several attempts trying to suggest that Derek get up so we can tour the city, he finally was up and moving .. but not very quickly mind you! He had to move carefully so as not to upset anything!
We drove into Victoria in search for something to eat - Derek wanted me to drive because he still wasn't feeling up to it! We never really found quite the type of restaurant we were looking for, but ended up at The White Spot. The food and service was alright, nothing special.
After brunch, we stopped at Moore's so Derek could try on his tux and make sure everything fit okay. The place was crazy, swarming with customers everywhere! We were basically on our own, trying to figure out where all the little accessories fit. But we made it out of there and everything fit fine.
For the rest of the afternoon, we made a visit to Butchart Gardens. The place is huge! Derek even enjoyed most of it - I think he mostly enjoyed getting ideas for the garden/yard.
Leaving there,we hurried back to the hotel and got ready for dinner. Tonight was dinner at Jeff's parents once again - the rehearsal dinner. We arrived around 7pm with Kurt and Sandra, who were also staying at the Traveller's Inn.
The dinner was catered and there was so much food! Roast beef, chicken breasts, fish, lasagna and many salads, etc. Too much selection to actually try everything. Most the guys who had been out the night before weren't eating too much anyway!
The rehearsal dinner even had a violinist and a bar set up in the garage!
We sat around till quite late with everyone, just visiting and having a few laughs.
