Beach baby, yeah!
We finally hit a real beach .. it was late by the time we actually got to sit and check it out, but well worth it. We brought the boogie board we purchased in Virginia (we never could catch a wave in Virginia) and lo and behold it worked! I can totally see how surfing is a life style .. after catching your first wave (even on a boogie board) is awesome. I compare it to hitting that perfect golf shot - you know you can do it, it's just a matter of trying a million times until you do it again. We both tried over and over again to figure out how we had done it .. it still is pretty much a random event .. but like I said it was very cool.
After scouting a few places for a room we ended up in Encino .. and found an excellent room at the Best Western on Ventura ... we lucked out ... and they give discounts to Canadian government workers.
After eating a late supper (10:15 ish) we hit the freeway and guided by our trusty NUVI worked the Hollywood hills ... up and down the Sunset strip, past the Viper room and through Bel Air we got a glimpse of Hollywood.
We hit the room late and have plans on getting tickets to the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
