We finally got everything in order last night (Friday) after work and made it out to the farm ... all before midnight! Yeay us! We packed up Oscar and few of his favourite toys, including the squeaky mouse which was a delight at every bump and surface break we were lucky to experience on the trip to the farm. I assured Derek we'd only have to listen to it for the 2 hour stretch. I'm certain if we somehow forgot to remove the mouse before heading into the US, the mouse would probably be evicted before we made it to Hannah!
Oscar acclimatized nicely - only went to his safe place under the couch later this morning. But that's probably more to do with his scheduled nap time, than being a scaredy cat.
We were up early (enough) this morning (by 8am) and Derek and Dad got the oil changed on Felix (Derek's car). Later, I gave Dad a much needed haircut per his request. So that should even things up .. as I suspect it was probably more Derek shouting encouragements while changing the oil, than the other way around. ;-)
Just fueling up on some bacon and eggs this morning before striking out, and getting our maps and travel books ready for the trip. Dad is making last attempts at directing us west instead of south, and Mom is trying to find a way to sneak into the back seat without us noticing. Oscar, is having a cat nap.
Should be heading out around 11, which puts us behind a little bit, but still is not that bad. Target for the night is Sioux Falls, SD. Will update at our next destination!
